On December 13, Timothy Jordan received his ring for being the 2018 State Shot Put Champion. The presentation was originally scheduled to be part of the Homecoming halftime festivities, but Hurricane Florence and all the delays accompanying it and its aftermath messed up that plan. Despite the lack of pomp and circumstance, the grins were wide and the reunion heartfelt as Track & Field coaches, Leeshawn Cromedy and Robert Scott, along with GHS principal Craig Evans and assistant principal Alvin Walker presented Jordan with the ring.

Jordan competed in both the shot put and discus during his career at Georgetown High. Cromedy said that Jordan didn't even want to do shot put during his Junior year, but came to recognize that competing in both discus and shot put made him better in each.

Jordan came into his Senior year with a fire and determination to excel. His winning throw at the state meet (mid-May of last school year) was fifty feet nine inches, defeating Andrew Wilson of Loris by more than a foot and a half.

Jordan currently is part of the South Carolina Upstate Track and Field program.
