Tidelands Trophy Club Scholarship Contest
Tidelands Ford Lincoln in Pawleys Island is excited to announce it’s Tidelands Trophy Club Scholarship Contest. They want to celebrate the best high school seniors in Horry and Georgetown County and help them with future educational expenses. The Sun News Educational Foundation Scholarship
The Sun News is offering five (5) one year $1,000 scholarships and one (1) $2,000 per year scholarship to a deserving high school senior who has made a significant impact in school and in their community.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Applicants will be considered from Horry and Georgetown counties of South Carolina, and our circulation distribution area in Southern Brunswick County of North Carolina. Exceptions must be approved by the Foundation.
• This scholarship is awarded to an outstanding student, based on the student’s motivation, potential for academic achievement, leadership and involvement in community events and civic activities.
• Scholarship holder must be a full-time (as defined by the college) student and must maintain a minimum of 2.5 grade-point average. All applicants must be entering a college in the fall as a freshman at a two-year junior college, a technical/community college or a four-year college or university.

Alpha Delta Kappa
Alpha Delta Kappa is offering a $500 scholarship to a deserving high school senior who resides in Georgetown County.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Applicant must major in education.
• Must complete the attached application.
• Must attached a transcript of his/her grades and
• Must submit two letters of recommendation written by people able to represent the student’s needs and which state why this person should be considered for the scholarship.

Delta Sigma Theta Scholarship
The Georgetown Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority is offering (2) $1,000 academic scholarships to deserving African American female seniors in the County’s four high schools.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Applicant must be an African American Female senior attending school in one of the Georgetown County School District’s four high schools.
• Applicant must have a 3.00 GPA or higher using the South Carolina Uniform grading scale.
• Applicant must include two letters of recommendation (one from a faculty member from your high school and one from a community member).
• Applicant must participate in a brief interview with members of the Georgetown Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority’s Scholarship Committee.
• Applicant must submit a senior picture and provide a signature giving permission for the picture to be used in Delta and/or newsworthy publications.

FBI Construction Scholarship Fund
FBI Construction is providing (4) $1,000 scholarships to deserving high school seniors who are interested in a career in the construction industry. This career could range from construction management or civil engineering to architecture to accounting. Suzannah Blackwell Memorial Scholarship
The Carolina Tesol is offering a $500 scholarship to a deserving high school ESOL senior in the memory of Suzannah Blackwell. Graphic Communication Scholarships
The Print and Graphics Scholarship Foundation is offering up to $5,000 in scholarships to deserving high school seniors who plan to pursue a career in either the fields of Graphic Communications, Technology, or Management. Thomas W. Jones Memorial Scholarship
The Thomas W. Jones Memorial Scholarship is a renewable scholarship and eligible seniors may apply. Applicants must plan to major in an engineering field and plan on attending the University of South Carolina School of Engineering. SEC Scholarship
Santee Electric Cooperative will award a $500 scholarship to a Georgetown High School senior. Applicants must be a senior and have a parent or guardian who is a member-owner of Santee Electric Cooperative. Horatio Alger National Career & Technical Scholarship
The Horatio Alger Association is offering a $2,500 scholarship to students who plan to pursue a career or technical education in a post-secondary environment.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Applicants must have completed high school or plan to complete high school by spring 2020 with plans to enroll at a community college for the first time in fall 2020.
• Attend a not-for-profit post-secondary institution.
• Demonstrate financial need; applicants must be Pell Grant eligible.
• Be under the age of 30.
• Be a United States citizen.

Howard High School Alumni Association Scholarship
The Howard High School Alumni Association is offering its annual scholarship to a deserving high school senior.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Applicant must be a descendant of a Howard High School from its beginning through its closing in 1984. Written proof of lineage is required (Report Card, High School Diploma, Certificate of Attendance, or other legal documentation).
• *Applicant must demonstrate in writing, financial need, educational goals, and extracurricular school/community services as well as any other information he/she feels relevant to be considered as a candidate for this scholarship.
• Applicant must have a C or higher GPA and submit a copy of transcript with application.
• Applicant must state the name of the college or university he/she plans to attend.

The Tywanza Sanders Legacy Scholarship
The Tywanza Sanders Legacy Scholarship is available to graduating South Carolina high school seniors; we provide financial assistance to awarded recipients for undergraduate study at a four-year college/university in the United States for the 2020-2021 academic year. Applications must be submitted by 11:59pm on Friday, April 17th through our online application portal. To apply, students may go to www.tywanzasanderslegacyfoundation.com/scholarships.

The Low Country Herb Society
The Low Country Herb Society is offering two (2) $1,250 scholarships to deserving graduating high school seniors in Georgetown or Horry County. Applicants must have an interest in pursuing studies that promote the use of herbs. Though not limited in the following areas, the studies may be in horticulture, landscaping, culinary arts, medicine, pharmacy, or other related field programs. 2020 Vida Miller Scholarship
The Georgetown County Democratic Party is offering a $1,000 scholarship in honor of Vida Miller. All high school seniors in Georgetown County Public School System are eligible to apply. Applicants must write an essay of no more than 600 words and no less than 400 words describing “How will Social Media influence the outcome of the 2020 Presidential Election?” For more information and to pick up an application, click the "Printable Applications" link above. All applications must be received by April 21, 2020.

PAWS Scholarship
PAWS is offering up to (4) non-renewable scholarships in the amount of $500 each to deserving GHS high school seniors.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Applicants must be a graduating senior at Georgetown High School.
• Applicants must have membership in PAWS during the current academic year (either the parent/guardian of the applicant or the applicant is a member of PAWS in the current school year. Membership deadline is 3/31/20.)
• Applicants must have at least a 3.50 weighted GPA according to the SC Uniform Grading Scale.
• Applicant must submit an academic recommendation from a GHS teacher.
• Applicant must submit a character reference from an adult (non-GHS; not family).
• Applicant must submit a Student Information Sheet and written response to the prompt, “Why I need/deserve the PAWS scholarship”.

THE GCEA-Retired Scholarship
The Georgetown County Education Association-Retired is offering a $500 scholarship to a high school senior from Georgetown County who plans to attend a college or university and major in education and teaching. All applications must be mailed by April 24, 2020.

SEC Scholarship (2nd scholarship from SEC)
Santee Electric Cooperative will award a $500 scholarship to a Georgetown High School senior. Applicants must be a senior and have a parent or guardian who is a member-owner of Santee Electric Cooperative. Winyah High School Alumni Scholarship
The Winyah High School Alumni Association is offering a scholarship to a deserving high school senior. Applicant must be a direct descendant (parent or grandparent) of an individual who attended Winyah High School. Applicant must also have a 2.0 or higher GPA in order to apply. Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Scholarship
The Pi Delta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity is offering a $500 nonrenewable scholarship to a deserving high school male senior. This scholarship is to help encourage talented and qualified public high school seniors to continue their education at a post-secondary institution.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Applicant must be a United States Citizen.
• Applicant must be a resident of Georgetown, South Carolina.
• Applicant must be a graduating high school male senior enrolled in good standing at a public high school in Georgetown County, South Carolina.
• Applicant must be enrolled into a nationally accredited 2 or 4 year college or university for the summer or fall prior to receipt of scholarship.
• Applicant must exhibit leadership qualities, good character and achievement.

Georgetown Baseball Softball Booster Club Scholarship
The Georgetown Baseball Softball Booster Club is offering two (2) $1,000 scholarships to deserving high school seniors that display exemplary character, work ethic and strong educational goals.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Applicant must be graduating from Georgetown High School in the current year.
• Applicant must have participated at least one full season of J.V. or Varsity baseball or softball while attending Georgetown High School.
• Applicant must be planning to enroll at least a minimum of 12 hours of credit per semester at their post-secondary institution.
• Applicant must have participated in the Georgetown Baseball Softball program for a minimum of 3 years.
• Applicant must have attended Georgetown High School for at least two full years.

Georgetown County Farm Bureau Scholarship
The Georgetown County Farm Bureau is offering a $500 scholarship to a deserving high school senior. Applicant must have been accepted and plan to attend an agriculture or agriculture-related program of study in a post-secondary school. Applicant’s immediate family (Parents/guardians) must hold membership in good standing at the Georgetown County Farm Bureau. Georgetown Lions Club
The Georgetown Lions Club is offering a $1,500 scholarship to deserving high school senior. Applicants must have lived within the Georgetown area for at least twelve months and will be enrolled in a college/university located in South Carolina for the first time this fall. Georgetown Rotary Club Scholarship
The Georgetown Rotary Club is offering one (1) $1,000 scholarship to a deserving high school senior from Georgetown High School and Carvers Bay High School. They will also be awarding a $500 scholarship from the Mike Rodgers Memorial to a deserving high school senior athlete.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Applicant must show academic achievement with a GPR of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
• Applicant must submit a high school transcript with College Board scores.
• Applicant must show involvement in extracurricular activities and community.
• Applicant must write no more than 500 words that apply at least 1 of the 4 statements from the Rotary 4-Way test as an example of how you live your life.
• Applicant must show financial need.
