Tidelands Trophy Club Scholarship Contest
Tidelands Ford Lincoln in Pawleys Island is excited to announce it’s Tidelands Trophy Club Scholarship Contest. They want to celebrate the best high school seniors in Horry and Georgetown County and help them with future educational expenses. Applicants must submit application online. 1st place winner will receive $5,000, 2nd place winner will receive $3,000 and 3rd place winner will receive $2,000. Lyceum Scholars Program
Clemson University is offering the Lyceum Scholars Program. This program offers a $2,500 scholarship which is renewable for up to four years. Lyceum Scholars will study the moral, political, and economics foundations of a free society. In addition to receiving this scholarship, recipients are paired with a faculty mentor, who guides their intellectual development throughout the program. Navy ROTC Scholarship
Any student interested in applying for the Navy ROTC Scholarship, please see Ms. Owens in guidance. Deadline to apply is December 31, 2019.

PSSCA Scholarship
The Palmetto State School Counselor Association offer three (3) $1,000 scholarships to deserving high school seniors to help assist with their post-secondary education costs.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Must be a high school senior attending a public or private secondary school in the state of South Carolina.
• Must be a permanent resident of the state of South Carolina.
• Must plan to attend a post-secondary institution during the 2020-2021 school year.

South Carolina Junior Golf Foundation Scholarship
The South Carolina Junior Golf Foundations offers scholarship aid to deserving students who meet their criteria.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Applicant must be a senior in a South Carolina high school or an undergraduate in a South Carolina college or university.
• Applicant must have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale through the spring 2018 semester.
• Applicant must be a South Carolina resident.
• Applicant must have a competitive or recreational interest in golf.
• Recipients must attend an accredited public or private, four-year college or university located in South Carolina in the fall of 2020.

John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Essay Contest
The 2020 John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Essay Contest challenges students to consider the quality John F. Kennedy admired most in public life: political courage. Students must write an original and creative essay of 1,000 words or less that demonstrates an understanding of political courage as described by John F. Kennedy in Profiles in Courage. Students in grades 9-12 may enter. First place winners will receive a $10,000 cash award. Second place winners will receive a$3,000 cash award and up to five finalists each will receive a $1,000 cash award. For more information, please stop by the guidance office. The American Legion High School Oratorical Scholarship
The American Legion is sponsoring the 82nd Annual high School Oratorical Scholarship program entitled “A Constitutional Speech Contest.” The purpose of this scholarship contest is to develop a deeper knowledge and appreciation of the Constitution of the United States on the part of high school students. Students in grades 9-12 may apply. Department of South Carolina Scholarship winners can receive up to $2,000 and advance to the National competition and an additional $1,500 scholarship for participation in the first round. Winners of the National Scholarships can receive up to $18,000. For more information, please stop by guidance. Hampton Wildlife Fund Scholarships
The Harry Hampton Wildlife Fund offers a variety of scholarships to deserving high school seniors who plan to major in either natural resources, law enforcement or print/photo journalism. James F. Byrnes Scholarship
The James F. Byrnes Scholarship Program is offering a scholarship of $4,500 to a deserving high school senior. This scholarship is renewed annually contingent upon the recipient’s maintenance of satisfactory academic standing, need for financial assistance, and participation in Byrnes Scholar activities.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Applicant must have one or both parents deceased.
• Applicant must be a South Carolina resident and United States citizen.
• Applicant must plan to pursue a bachelor’s degree at an accredited 4-year college/university.
• Applicant must have a satisfactory academic record.
• Applicant must have received SAT/ACT scores.
• Applicant must demonstrate excellence in character, ability and enterprise to indicate that the student will make worthwhile contributions to society.
• Applicant must have need for financial assistance in order to attend college.

SC Governor's Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities Journalism Contest
The winner of the 2020 Journalism Contest receives a four-year scholarship to the South Carolina state-supported institution of his or her choice. This year’s journalism contest topic is “The Right Talent, Right Now.” Applicants must be between the ages of 16-19 and a senior in high school. You do not have to have a disability to enter. The Silver Pen

The Lakes at Litchfield retirement community will offer a one-time scholarship to a deserving high school senior. First place winner will receive $2,500. Second place winner will receive $750 and third place winner will receive $500.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Applicant must be a high school senior living within or attending a school within 25 miles of The Lakes at Litchfield.

Carolina Trust Federal Credit Union, Horry Telephone Cooperative, Inc. (HTC)
The Carolina Trust Federal Credit Union and Horry Telephone Cooperative, Inc. (HTC) have partnered to offer two scholarship awards to graduating high school seniors from Horry, Georgetown, Marion, Williamsburg, and southern part of Florence County. Two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to rising college freshman seeking a four-year degree from Coastal Carolina University or Francis Marion University. The scholarship may be renewed for three consecutive years in the amount of $500 per year as long as the recipient meets certain criteria.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Applicant must be a graduating high school senior.
• Applicant must have at least a 3.0 GPA.
• Applicant must be accepted by and plan to attend either Coastal Carolina University (CCU) or Francis Marion University (FMU) for at least four years.
• Applicant must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 college credit hours (full-time status) at either CCU or FMU.

Yawkey Scholarship
The Yawkey Foundation is offering a four-year renewable scholarship to cover tuition and fees to a deserving high school senior. This is a great opportunity for graduating high school students from Georgetown County, SC entering college in South Carolina in 2020-21.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Applicant must be a US citizen and a permanent resident of Georgetown County, South Carolina.
• Applicant must be from a low-income family with unmet financial need. All applicants must submit a copy of pages one and two of the parent(s)’ or guardian(s)’ most recent IRS form 1040 and a copy of the SAR.
• Applicant must be engaged in a meaningful, sustained mentoring program or ongoing relationship with an adult role model.
• Applicant must be a current senior at an accredited high school in South Carolina.
• Applicant must be accepted to and plan to attend a public or private four-year college or university in South Carolina beginning in the Fall 2020.
• Applicant must have strong academic record or demonstrate a significant improvement over time.
• Applicant must be involved in a balance of community, school, and work activities.

2020 Georgetown Kraft Credit Union Scholarship
Georgetown Kraft Credit Union will award $1,000 scholarships to deserving high school seniors that display exemplary character, work ethic and strong educational goals.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Applicant must be graduating high school in Georgetown or Williamsburg County.
• Applicant must be an active GKCU member or child/relative of GKCU member.
• Applicant must be planning to enroll at least a minimum of 12 hours of credit per semester at their post-secondary institution.

Daughters of the American Revolution Winyah Chapter Scholarship
The Winyah Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) is proud to offer our college scholarship to exemplary high school students this year. Applicants must write a statement of 1,000 words or less one of the following topics:
1. The lessons we take from obstacles we encounter can be fundamental to later success. Recount a time when you faced a challenge, setback or failure. How did it affect you, and what did you learn from the experience?
2. Describe a problem you’ve solved or a problem you’d like to solve. It can be an intellectual challenge, a research query, an ethical dilemma-anything that is of personal importance, no matter the scale. Explain its significance to you and what steps you took or could be taken to identify a solution.

Graphic Communication Scholarships
The Print and Graphics Scholarship Foundation is offering up to $5,000 in scholarships to deserving high school seniors who plan to pursue a career in either the fields of Graphic Communications, Technology, or Management.
