Allen University will have a Spring Open House on Saturday, March 23, 2019 from 8:00am until 12:00pm. Students will be able to take a campus tour and get personalized assistance on completing the FASFA. For more information please see guidance.

Carolina Trust Federal Credit Union, Horry Telephone Cooperative, Inc. (HTC)
The Carolina Trust Federal Credit Union and Horry Telephone Cooperative, Inc. (HTC) have partnered to offer two scholarship awards to graduating high school seniors from Horry, Georgetown, Marion, Williamsburg, and southern part of Florence County. Two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to rising college freshman seeking a four-year degree from Coastal Carolina University or Francis Marion University. The scholarship may be renewed for three consecutive years in the amount of $500 per year as long as the recipient meets certain criteria.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Applicant must be a graduating high school senior.
• Applicant must have at least a 3.0 GPA.
• Applicant must be accepted by and plan to attend either Coastal Carolina University (CCU) or Francis Marion University (FMU) for at least four years.
• Applicant must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 college credit hours (full-time status) at either CCU or FMU.

African American Network-Carolinas Scholarship Fund
The African American Network-Carolinas Chapter is offering scholarships ranging up to $2,000 to deserving graduating seniors in North and South Carolina. The African American Network is a resource group of African American employees at Duke Energy. They help provide scholarships to students who plan to major in engineering, math, science, computer science, accounting, finance, or business administration. Applicants must also plan on attending a four-year college or university located in North or South Carolina. For more information, please stop by the guidance office. Call Me Mister
Coastal Carolina University’s Call Me Mister program purpose is to assist with the recruitment, training and certification of elementary school teachers who are planning to teach in South Carolina schools, especially in the lowest performing elementary schools. This program to seeking to build a more diverse group of educators by providing academic, social and financial support to individuals interested in entering the teaching field.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Applicant must be enrolled in the early childhood education, elementary education or middle level teacher education program.
• Applicant must enroll at Coastal Carolina University for the fall semester.
• Applicant participants are largely selected from under-served, socioeconomically disadvantaged and educationally at-risk communities.

Yawkey Scholarship
The Yawkey Foundation is offering a four-year renewable scholarship to cover tuition and fees to a deserving high school senior. This is a great opportunity for graduating high school students from Georgetown County, SC entering college in South Carolina in 2019-20.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Applicant must be a US citizen and a permanent resident of Georgetown County, South Carolina.
• Applicant must be from a low-income family with unmet financial need. All applicants must submit a copy of pages one and two of the parent(s)’ or guardian(s)’ most recent IRS form 1040 and a copy of the SAR.
• Applicant must be engaged in a meaningful, sustained mentoring program or ongoing relationship with an adult role model.
• Applicant must be a current senior at an accredited high school in South Carolina.
• Applicant must be accepted to and plan to attend a public or private four-year college or university in South Carolina beginning in the Fall 2019.
• Applicant must have strong academic record or demonstrate a significant improvement over time.
• Applicant must be involved in a balance of community, school, and work activities.

Tidelands Community Hospice/Mary Atmar Johnson Scholarship
Tidelands Community Hospice is offering four (4) $1,000 scholarships annually to deserving students who are planning to pursue a degree in the field of Social Work or Nursing. Applicants must reside in one of the counties (Georgetown, Horry, Williamsburg) served by Tidelands Community Hospice. Bobby Chapman Scholarship
The Bobby Chapman Scholarship is a $1,500 annually scholarship given to a deserving high school senior in the Southeastern United States and/or participate in a prior Bobby Chapman Invitational.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Applicant must plan to be a full-time student at an accredited college or university.
• Applicant must have a GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

SCAEAP Scholarship
The South Carolina Association of Extension Administrative Professionals are offering a scholarship to anyone who is either a member of SCAEAP or their children and individuals pursuing a career in the secretarial science, computer science or business management field. Daughters of the American Revolution Winyah Chapter Scholarship
The Winyah Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) is proud to offer our college scholarship to exemplary high school students this year. Applicants must write a statement of 1,000 words or less describing their talents, innovation, involvement and leadership in school and community as they pertain to their goals. 2019 Georgetown Kraft Credit Union Scholarship
Georgetown Kraft Credit Union will award $1,000 scholarships to deserving high school seniors that display exemplary character, work ethic and strong educational goals.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Applicant must be graduating high school in Georgetown or Williamsburg County.
• Applicant must be an active GKCU member or child/relative of GKCU member.
• Applicant must be planning to enroll at least a minimum of 12 hours of credit per semester at their post-secondary institution.

Josie K. Claiborne Memorial Scholarship
The American Association of Blacks in Energy is a professional organization of African Americans in the energy industry. Through its scholarship program, they seek to help increase the number of African Americans, Hispanics and Native Americans in energy related fields. This scholarship is valued up to $3,500.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Be a resident of the state of South Carolina.
• Belong to a class or group of individuals who are underrepresented in the sciences, technology, engineering and/or math related disciplines;
• Have an overall unweighted academic average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale.
• Have applied and/or been accepted to one or more accredited colleges/universities;
• Be a minority student and plan to major in business, engineering, one of the physical sciences, technology or mathematics.

SC STEM Signing Day 2019
SC STEM Signing Day 2019 I presented by Boeing, BMW and SC Manufactures Alliance in an effort to motivate and to encourage South Carolina students to pursue STEM education at the next level. Seniors who will be attending either a 2 or 4 year college or university and pursuing a STEM degree or program are eligible to apply. For more information, please see guidance. The South Carolina Education Association-Retired Scholarship
The South Carolina Education Association-Retired Association is offering a $1,000 scholarship to a deserving high school senior. This scholarship is awarded annually and is designed to encourage promising young people to prepare careers in education at an accredited four-year college in South Carolina.
Eligibility Requirements:
• The applicant must be a senior graduating from a public high school in South Carolina.
• The applicant must plan to attend an accredited four-year college, university, or an accredited two-year college within the state of South Carolina as a full-time student.
• The applicant must plan for and pursue a career in education.
• The applicant must have maintained a good high school academic record and maintain a 3.0 grade point ratio while attending a college.
• The applicant must demonstrate leadership abilities.
• The applicant must need financial assistance.

SC State Fair Scholarship
The South Carolina State Fair is offering (50) $6,000 scholarships to deserving graduating seniors in both private and public schools.
Eligibility Requirement
• Applicant must be a full time resident of South Carolina and a senior in a public or private high school or home school in South Carolina.
• Applicant must attach a current photograph (preferably a senior class photo).
• Applicant must attend a public or private college or university or technical college in the state of South Carolina.

SC Coaches Association of Women’s Sports Educator’s Scholarship
The South Carolina Coaches Association of Women’s Sports (SCCAWS) is offering a scholarship to a deserving high school female athlete planning to major in education. This scholarship is a one-time monetary award. Only one application from each school will be accepted.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Academic excellence (transcript, including SAT and/or ACT scores required)
• Recommendations from guidance counselor and two teachers
• Extra-curricular activities involving athletic and non-athletic participation (must be an eligible high school participant on one or more athletic teams).
• Enrolling female college freshman who plans to major in education.
• A one-page essay (in the student’s handwriting) on the topic “Why I Want to Be a Teacher and Where I Envision Myself in the Teaching Field in Ten Years.”
• SAT- minimum composite score of 1000 and/or ACT- minimum composite score of 22
• Rank in class
• GPA (based on S.C. Uniform Grading Scale)

2019 KBM Scholarship
The Pawleys Island Festival of music & art is offering a $2,000 scholarship to a deserving high school senior who plans to major in Art Studio or Graphic Design. Thomas W. Jones Memorial Scholarship
The Thomas W. Jones Memorial Scholarship is a renewable scholarship and eligible seniors may apply. Applicants must plan to major in an engineering field and plan on attending the University of South Carolina School of Engineering. Alpha Delta Kappa
Alpha Delta Kappa is offering a $500 scholarship to a deserving high school senior who resides in Georgetown County.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Applicant must major in education.
• Must complete the attached application.
• Must attached a transcript of his/her grades and
• Must submit two letters of recommendation written by people able to represent the student’s needs and which state why this person should be considered for the scholarship.

Suzannah Blackwell Memorial Scholarship
The Carolina Tesol is offering a $500 scholarship to a deserving high school ESOL senior in the memory of Suzannah Blackwell. FBI Construction Scholarship Fund
FBI Construction is providing a $1,000 grant to a deserving high school senior who is interested in a career in the construction industry. This career could range from construction management or civil engineering to architecture to accounting. For more information and pick up an application, please stop by the guidance office. All applications must be received in their office by Monday, April 1, 2019.

Georgetown Lions Club
The Georgetown Lions Club is offering two (2) $1,500 scholarships to deserving high school seniors. Applicants must have lived within the Georgetown area for at least twelve months and will be enrolled in a college/university located in South Carolina for the first time this fall. Joye Law Firm, L.L.P. Scholarship
The
Joye Law Firm is offering six (6) $2,000 scholarships to deserving high school seniors. Applicants must submit a creative entry. SEC Scholarship
Santee Electric Cooperative will award a $500 scholarship to a Georgetown High School senior. Applicants must be a senior and have a parent or guardian who is a member-owner of Santee Electric Cooperative. For more information and to pick up an application, please stop by the guidance office. All applications must be returned to the guidance office by Friday, April 12, 2019.

2019 Fourth Circuit Essay Contest
The US Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit is offering an essay contest for students in grades 9-12. Applicants must write an essay that does not exceed 1000 words on the topic “How has the right to freedom of speech established for public school students in the Supreme Court case of Tinker v. Des Moines evolved in the 50 years since it was decided?” For more information, please stop by the guidance office. Howard High School Alumni Association Scholarship
The Howard High School Alumni Association is offering its annual scholarship to a deserving high school senior.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Applicant must be a descendant of a Howard High School Alumni from its beginning through its closing in 1984. Written proof of lineage is required (Report Card, High School Diploma, Certificate of Attendance, or other legal documentation).
• *Applicant must demonstrate in writing, financial need, educational goals, and extracurricular school/community services as well as any other information he/she feels relevant to be considered as a candidate for this scholarship.
• Applicant must have a C or higher GPA and submit a copy of transcript with application.
• Applicant must state the name of the college or university he/she plans to attend.

The Joshua A. Powell Dream Scholarship
The family of Joshua A. Powell is offering a $500 scholarship to a deserving high school senior at Georgetown High School. Joshua Powell was a victim of senseless gun violence. He had a passion for the community, to his family and he desired to see others realize their full potential.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Must have a GPA of 2.5 or above.
• Must be a graduating senior of Georgetown High School.
• Must have one letter of recommendation from acceptable sources (teacher, counselor, or coach).
• Must have one letter of recommendation from Community Service involvement program.
• A personal statement of 250 words or more addressing: Leadership abilities as a student and/or community service, an outline of school, community and/or church involvement and show examples of leadership experiences that have taught you about commitment and dedication.
• Demonstrate plans to attend an institution of higher learning, which may be a 2 year or 4 year college or vocational school.

2019 Student-View Scholarship
Student Insights is sponsoring a scholarship contest for high school seniors. They are offering $11,000 worth of scholarships for seniors who plan to attend a four-year college, community/junior college or career school. All you have to do is log on to www.student-view.com and complete a 15-20 minute application survey about colleges in your area. The scholarship will be awarded by a random drawing. The scholarship winner will be announced in May. Deadline to enter is April 22, 2019.

Lifting Our Youth Scholarship
Lifting Our Youth was founded in 2017 by Karra McCray, Jeffron Smalls, Jasmin Waites and Desmond Sumpter, four individuals from Georgetown, SC. They are offering $1,000 scholarship to a deserving high school senior. Their hope is to inspire youth to live up to their greatest potential by working hard to actively pursue and accomplish their goals and dreams.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Applicant must be a graduating senior at a Georgetown County School District high school.
• Applicant must plan to attend a 4 year college or university.
• Applicant must complete scholarship application online.
• Applicant must write an essay (less than 1000 words) on the following topic: Lifting Our Youth prides itself on the motto, “lifting others as we climb”, what does this mean to you? How would you carry out this motto if selected for the scholarship?

23rd Annual National Student Poetry Contest
The American Library of Poetry is offering the 23rd annual National Student Poetry Contest for students in grades 9-12. Applicants must write a poem no more than 20 lines on any subject, in any style except concrete (shape poems) or blackout. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each division will receive a cash prize and certificate of achievement. Georgetown Baseball Softball Booster Club Scholarship
The Georgetown Baseball Softball Booster Club is offering two (2) $1,000 scholarships to deserving high school seniors that display exemplary character, work ethic and strong educational goals.
Eligibility Requirements:
* Applicant must be graduating from Georgetown High School in the current year.
* Applicant must have participated at least one full season of J.V. or Varsity baseball or softball while attending Georgetown High School.
* Applicant must be planning to enroll at least a minimum of 12 hours of credit per semester at their post-secondary institution.
* Applicant must have participated in the Georgetown Baseball Softball program for a minimum of 3 years.
* Applicant must have attended Georgetown High School for at least two full years.

Suntrust Off to College Sweepstakes is offering thirty (30) $500 scholarships to deserving high school seniors. Students can begin registering September 10, 2018 and the first drawing will be held October 29, 2018. For more information, please stop by the guidance department. Peck Law Firm Scholarship
The Peck Law Firm in Charleston, SC is offering a $2,000 scholarship to a deserving high school senior who plans to attend college, graduate school, or law school degree.
