Project Hope Scholarship
The Health Profession Opportunity Grant (HPOG) program is offering the Project Hope Scholarship to deserving seniors who meet certain criteria. Applicants must be planning to major in a health related field and be from a low income family. For more information and to pick up an application, please see guidance.

The Courtney C. Hicks Student of Ambition Scholarship
The Courtney C. Hicks Student of Ambition Scholarship is design to help ease the financial burden of purchasing textbooks for a deserving senior. Courtney Hicks is a former Georgetown High School alumni that was noted for her ambition, not just setting goals, but working hard to achieve them. This scholarship is not awarded based on GPA but rather from the applicant’s school involvement, leadership roles, community involvement, and future goals. For more information and to pick up an application, please stop by the guidance office. All applications must be returned back into the guidance office no later than noon on April 18, 2019.

Dr. Harry C. Taylor/Georgetown Bulldog Booster Club
Dr. Harry C. Taylor/Georgetown Bulldog Booster Club will be offering a scholarship to a deserving student-athlete. Applicants must have participated in the athletic program at least two years and participated at the varsity level during their junior or senior year. Applicants must plan to attend a 2 or 4 year college or university in the fall. For more information and to pick up an application, please stop by the guidance department. All applications must be turned back into the guidance office no later than Thursday, April 18, 2019.

PAWS Scholarship
PAWS is offering up to (4) non-renewable scholarships in the amount of $500 each to deserving GHS high school seniors.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Applicants must be a graduating senior at Georgetown High School.
• Applicants must have membership in PAWS during the current academic year (either the parent/guardian of the applicant or the applicant is a member of PAWS in the current school year. Membership deadline is 3/29/19.)
• Applicants must have at least a 3.50 weighted GPA according to the SC Uniform Grading Scale.
• Applicant must submit an academic recommendation from a GHS teacher.
• Applicant must submit a character reference from an adult (non-GHS; not family).
• Applicant must submit a Student Information Sheet and written response to the prompt, “Why I need/deserve the PAWS scholarship”.

The Joshua A. Powell Dream Scholarship
The family of Joshua A. Powell is offering a $500 scholarship to a deserving high school senior at Georgetown High School. Joshua Powell was a victim of senseless gun violence. He had a passion for the community, to his family and he desired to see others realize their full potential.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Must have a GPA of 2.5 or above.
• Must be a graduating senior of Georgetown High School.
• Must have one letter of recommendation from acceptable sources (teacher, counselor, or coach).
• Must have one letter of recommendation from Community Service involvement program.
• A personal statement of 250 words or more addressing: Leadership abilities as a student and/or community service, an outline of school, community and/or church involvement and show examples of leadership experiences that have taught you about commitment and dedication.
• Demonstrate plans to attend an institution of higher learning, which may be a 2 year or 4 year college or vocational school.

2019 Vida Miller Scholarship
The Georgetown County Democratic Party is offering a $1,000 scholarship in honor of Vida Miller. All high school seniors in Georgetown County Public School System are eligible to apply. Applicants must write an essay of no more than 600 words and no less than 400 words describing “What is the effect of immigrants on the United States?” For more information and to pick up an application, please stop by the guidance office. All applications must be received by April 18, 2019.

2019 Student-View Scholarship
Student Insights is sponsoring a scholarship contest for high school seniors. They are offering $11,000 worth of scholarships for seniors who plan to attend a four-year college, community/junior college or career school. All you have to do is log on to www.student-view.com and complete a 15-20 minute application survey about colleges in your area. The scholarship will be awarded by a random drawing. The scholarship winner will be announced in May. Deadline to enter is April 22, 2019.

Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Scholarship
The Pi Delta Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity is offering a $500 nonrenewable scholarship to a deserving high school male senior. This scholarship is to help encourage talented and qualified public high school seniors to continue their education at a post-secondary institution.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Applicant must be a United States Citizen.
• Applicant must be a resident of Georgetown, South Carolina.
• Applicant must be a graduating high school male senior enrolled in good standing at a public high school in Georgetown County, South Carolina.
• Applicant must be enrolled into a nationally accredited 2 or 4 year college or university for the summer or fall prior to receipt of scholarship.
• Applicant must exhibit leadership qualities, good character and achievement.

Lifting Our Youth Scholarship
Lifting Our Youth was founded in 2017 by Karra McCray, Jeffron Smalls, Jasmin Waites and Desmond Sumpter, four individuals from Georgetown, SC. They are offering $1,000 scholarship to a deserving high school senior. Their hope is to inspire youth to live up to their greatest potential by working hard to actively pursue and accomplish their goals and dreams.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Applicant must be a graduating senior at a Georgetown County School District high school.
• Applicant must plan to attend a 4 year college or university.
• Applicant must complete scholarship application online.
• Applicant must write an essay (less than 1000 words) on the following topic: Lifting Our Youth prides itself on the motto, “lifting others as we climb”, what does this mean to you? How would you carry out this motto if selected for the scholarship?

23rd Annual National Student Poetry Contest
The American Library of Poetry is offering the 23rd annual National Student Poetry Contest for students in grades 9-12. Applicants must write a poem no more than 20 lines on any subject, in any style except concrete (shape poems) or blackout. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each division will receive a cash prize and certificate of achievement. Dr. Timothy Pence Scholarship
The Dr. Timothy Pence Scholarship is a $1,500 scholarship that will be awarded to a deserving graduating senior entering the health profession. Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA and community service hours. For more information and to pick up an application, please stop by the guidance office. All applications must be returned back into the guidance office no later than Tuesday, April 30, 2019.

Georgetown Baseball Softball Booster Club Scholarship
The Georgetown Baseball Softball Booster Club is offering two (2) $1,000 scholarships to deserving high school seniors that display exemplary character, work ethic and strong educational goals.
Eligibility Requirements:
* Applicant must be graduating from Georgetown High School in the current year.
* Applicant must have participated at least one full season of J.V. or Varsity baseball or softball while attending Georgetown High School.
* Applicant must be planning to enroll at least a minimum of 12 hours of credit per semester at their post-secondary institution.
* Applicant must have participated in the Georgetown Baseball Softball program for a minimum of 3 years.
* Applicant must have attended Georgetown High School for at least two full years.

Georgetown Rotary Club Scholarship
The Georgetown Rotary Club is offering one (1) $1,000 scholarship to a deserving high school senior from Georgetown High School and Carvers Bay High School. They will also be awarding a $500 scholarship from the Mike Rodgers Memorial to a deserving high school senior athlete.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Applicant must show academic achievement with a GPR of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
• Applicant must submit a high school transcript with College Board scores.
• Applicant must show involvement in extracurricular activities and community.
• Applicant must write no more than 500 words that apply at least 1 of the 4 statements from the Rotary 4-Way test as an example of how you live your life.
• Applicant must show financial need.

Georgetown County Farm Bureau Scholarship
The Georgetown County Farm Bureau is offering a $500 scholarship to a deserving
high school senior. Applicant must have been accepted and plan to attend an agriculture or agriculture-related program of study in a post-secondary school. Applicant’s immediate family (Parents/guardians) must hold membership in good standing at the Georgetown County Farm Bureau. Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Scholarship
The Lambda Omicron Zeta Chapter of the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority will be offering a scholarship to a deserving senior female. For more information and to pick up an application, please stop by the guidance office. All applications must be postmarked by May 1, 2019.

HGTC
Horry Georgetown Technical College is offering a scholarship to a deserving high school senior. Applicants must have applied and have been accepted to HGTC. For more information and to pick up an application, please stop by the guidance office. All applications must be turned back into guidance by Thursday, May 2, 2019.

Alwyn O. Goldstein Memorial Scholarship
Roslyn Goldstein Greenspon Donor Advised Fund held with The Foundation of the Carolinas is offering a $1,000 scholarship in the memory of her father, Alwyn O. Goldstein. Alwyn O. Goldstein was instrumental in enhancing the lives of numerous Georgetown students as they attended college and worked towards professional degrees in the medical field.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Applicants must have interest in the pursuit of an educational degree in the medical field. This must be either in the clinical, research, or technological aspects.
• Scholarship is available to a Georgetown High School graduating senior whose cumulative GPA is 3.5 or above on the SC-UGP weighted scale and who is not receiving other significant financial awards.
• Applicant must be a documented American Citizen and legal resident of Georgetown County, South Carolina.
• Applicant must have attended Georgetown High School for the last two years of high school.
• Applicant must document financial need with data, such as SAR, free or reduced lunch form, tax return, or other appropriate information.
• Applicant must show history of involvement in school, community, and job activities during junior and senior high school years.

Rev. Doris Marie Hicks-Gamble Memorial Educator’s Scholarship
The Rev. Doris Marie Hicks-Gamble Memorial Educator’s Scholarship is in honor of the late Rev. Doris Marie Hicks-Gamble. She was a former teacher and principal that devoted 39 years to Georgetown School System. Scholarship will range from $500-$1,000.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Must be a senior attending school in one of the Georgetown County School District’s four high schools.
• Must have a 2.0 GPA or higher using the South Carolina Uniform grading scale.
• Must be a senior that will attend college in the fall and major in education. Must provide a personal letter of interest and discuss educational goals for future.
• Must submit a senior picture and provide a signature giving permission for the picture to be used in a newsworthy publication.

Suntrust Off to College
Suntrust Off to College Sweepstakes is offering thirty (30) $500 scholarships to deserving high school seniors. Students can begin registering September 10, 2018 and the first drawing will be held October 29, 2018. For more information, please stop by the guidance department. To enter, please visit their website at suntrust.com/offtocollege. The sweepstakes will run through May 13, 2019.

Wayne Clay Sumpter Memorial Scholarship
Mrs. Margaret M. Sumpter created this scholarship in loving memory of her husband, Wayne Clay Sumpter. This scholarship is a non-renewable one-time cash award of $500 given to (2) two deserving African American seniors in the Midlands Area and Georgetown County.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Applicant must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.00 to be eligible.
• Pursuing a four-year degree in Business Studies. ( Business degree is preferred, but you can still apply if you are not pursuing a Business degree)
• Meet financial need requirement.
• Be accepted by an accredited college or university at the time of the scholarship award.

Peck Law Firm Scholarship
The Peck Law Firm in Charleston, SC is offering a $2,000 scholarship to a deserving high school senior who plans to attend college, graduate school, or law school degree. Applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher to be eligible to apply. For more information, please stop by the guidance office. Horatio Alger National Career & Technical Scholarship
The Horatio Alger Association is offering a $2,500 scholarship to students who plan to pursue a career or technical education in a post-secondary environment.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Applicants must have completed high school or plan to complete high school by spring 2019 with plans to enroll at a community college for the first time in fall 2019.
• Attend a not-for-profit post-secondary institution.
• Demonstrate financial need; applicants must be Pell Grant eligible.
• Be under the age of 30.
• Be a United States citizen.

The Landrum Washington Legacy Fund Scholarship
The Landrum Washington Legacy Fund, Inc. will award 5 or more $500 scholarships to deserving high school graduating seniors this summer.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Be a high school graduate
• Demonstrate leadership ability and has engaged in community services
• Submit an application and two (2) letters of recommendation. (The recommendations may come from a school, community, or church representative or an employer, (no relatives);
• Submit a typed essay (minimum of 500 words). (Essay topics are in application.)
• Submit a copy of high school transcript
• Submit a copy of an acceptance letter from an accredited institution (two or four year college)

AA Grand Strand Architecture Scholarship
The American Institute of Architects is offering a $1,000 scholarship to a deserving high school senior who plans to major in architecture. For more information and to pick up an application, please stop by the guidance office. Applications must be postmarked by August 2, 2019.


Harris & Graves College Scholarship
The Harris & Graves Law Firm is offering one $1,000 scholarship to a deserving high school senior in need of financial assistance.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Applicant should have up to a 3.0 GPA.
• Applicant must list all extracurricular activities such as awards or sports.
• Applicant must list any past and current community service involvement.
• Applicant must write an essay of 300 words or less, that answers the following question: How do lawyers help people?
