Tidelands Trophy Club Scholarship Contest
Tidelands Ford Lincoln in Pawleys Island is excited to announce it’s Tidelands Trophy Club Scholarship Contest. They want to celebrate the best high school seniors in Horry and Georgetown County and help them with future educational expenses. Applicants must submit application online. 1st place winner will receive $5,000, 2nd place winner will receive $3,000 and 3rd place winner will receive $2,000. Horatio Alger Scholarship
The Horatio Alger Association is offering up to $25,000 for scholarships to students who have demonstrated integrity, determination, and courage. This scholarship helps students to overcome the financial barriers of pursuing a higher education.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Be enrolled full-time as a high school senior in the United States with plans to enter college no later than the Fall semester following graduation
• Exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a bachelor’s degree at an accredited non-profit public or private institution in the United States (students may start their studies at a two-year institution and then transfer to a four-year institution)
• Demonstrate critical financial need ($55,000 or lower adjusted gross family income is required)
• Be involved in co-curricular and community service activities
• Display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity
• Maintain a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0
• Be a United States citizen

Heisman High School Scholarship
The Heisman High School Scholarship honors high school seniors who accomplish tremendous feats in the classroom, on the field, and most importantly, within their community. The scholarship recognizes and rewards both male and female high school athletes who are community-minded and driven to use their exceptional talents for the benefit of all. VFW’s Voice of Democracy Scholarship
The VFW is offering the Voice of Democracy Scholarship competition for students in grades 9-12. The winner will receive $30,000 paid directly to the American college, university or vocational/technical school of their choice. For more information, please see guidance. Most Valuable Student Scholarship
The Elks National Foundation is offering the Most Valuable Student Scholarship ranging in the amount of $50,000 over 4 years to $4,000 over 4 years. To be eligible, students must be a high school senior and a U.S. citizen. Applicants will be judged based on scholarship, leadership, and financial need. 2020 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards
The 2020 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards wants to hear from students who have made a difference through community service. If you are a high school student who has raised money for an important cause, or coordinated a neighborhood clean-up, you may apply. Those are just some
examples. Every high school may select a local honoree. These honorees are then eligible for statewide recognition, a $1,000 award, a silver medallion, and an all-expense-paid trip to Washington, DC. The ten National Honorees will receive an additional $5,000 award, a gold medallion, a crystal trophy, and $5,000 in grants to be given to the charity of their choice. After submitting the electronic application, students must also send the application to Leigh Owens (Lowens@gcsd.k12.sc.us) and print a hard copy to be turned in to guidance. Only one application can be submitted by each school. The school will select the top applicant. Student Poetry Contest
Appelley Publishing is offering the Student Poetry Contest for students in grades 9-12. Each student must submit only one original poem on any subject, of no less than 2 lines and no more than 20 lines, in any form other than concrete or blackout. 1st place winners will receive $500. The Robertson Scholars Leadership Program
Any student interested in attending Duke University or the University of North Carolina- Chapel Hill and would like to learn about possible scholarships, please see guidance. Deadline to apply is November 15, 2019.

SC Teaching Fellows
The South Carolina Teaching Fellowship mission is to recruit talented high school seniors into the teaching profession and to help them develop leadership qualities. Applicants can receive up to $6,000/per year for a total of $24,000. For more information and to apply, please visit their website at www.cerra.org. All applications must be submitted online. The online application will open September 1, 2019. Deadline to apply is December 1, 2019.

Kittie Moss Fairey Educational Fund Scholarship
The Kittie Moss Fairey Educational Fund offers scholarship aid to deserving students who meet certain academic and financial criteria.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Applicants must be high school seniors enrolled in a South Carolina high school.
• Applicants must be South Carolina residents.
• Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale through the spring 2018 Semester.
• Applicants must demonstrate financial need.
• Applicants must be planning to attend an accredited two-year or four-year college or university in the state of South Carolina.

Lyceum Scholars Program
Clemson University is offering the Lyceum Scholars Program. This program offers a $2,500 scholarship which is renewable for up to four years. Lyceum Scholars will study the moral, political, and economics foundations of a free society. In addition to receiving this scholarship, recipients are paired with a faculty mentor, who guides their intellectual development throughout the program. Navy ROTC Scholarship

PSSCA Scholarship
The Palmetto State School Counselor Association offer three (3) $1,000 scholarships to deserving high school seniors to help assist with their post-secondary education costs.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Must be a high school senior attending a public or private secondary school in the state of South Carolina.
• Must be a permanent resident of the state of South Carolina.
• Must plan to attend a post-secondary institution during the 2020-2021 school year.

South Carolina Junior Golf Foundation Scholarship
The South Carolina Junior Golf Foundations offers scholarship aid to deserving students who meet their criteria.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Applicant must be a senior in a South Carolina high school or an undergraduate in a South Carolina college or university.
• Applicant must have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale through the spring 2018 semester.
• Applicant must be a South Carolina resident.
• Applicant must have a competitive or recreational interest in golf.
• Recipients must attend an accredited public or private, four-year college or university located in South Carolina in the fall of 2020.

John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Essay Contest
The 2020 John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Essay Contest challenges students to consider the quality John F. Kennedy admired most in public life: political courage. Students must write an original and creative essay of 1,000 words or less that demonstrates an understanding of political courage as described by John F. Kennedy in Profiles in Courage. Students in grades 9-12 may enter. First place winners will receive a $10,000 cash award. Second place winners will receive a$3,000 cash award and up to five finalists each will receive a $1,000 cash award. For more information, please stop by the guidance office. The American Legion High School Oratorical Scholarship
The American Legion is sponsoring the 82nd Annual high School Oratorical Scholarship program entitled “A Constitutional Speech Contest.” The purpose of this scholarship contest is to develop a deeper knowledge and appreciation of the Constitution of the United States on the part of high school students. Students in grades 9-12 may apply. Department of South Carolina Scholarship winners can receive up to $2,000 and advance to the National competition and an additional $1,500 scholarship for participation in the first round. Winners of the National Scholarships can receive up to $18,000. For more information, please stop by guidance. Hampton Wildlife Fund Scholarships
The Harry Hampton Wildlife Fund offers a variety of scholarships to deserving high school seniors who plan to major in either natural resources, law enforcement or print/photo journalism. SC Governor's Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities Journalism Contest
The winner of the 2020 Journalism Contest receives a four-year scholarship to the South Carolina state-supported institution of his or her choice. This year’s journalism contest topic is “The Right Talent, Right Now.” Applicants must be between the ages of 16-19 and a senior in high school. You do not have to have a disability to enter. 2020 Georgetown Kraft Credit Union Scholarship
Georgetown Kraft Credit Union will award $1,000 scholarships to deserving high school seniors that display exemplary character, work ethic and strong educational goals.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Applicant must be graduating high school in Georgetown or Williamsburg County.
• Applicant must be an active GKCU member or child/relative of GKCU member.
• Applicant must be planning to enroll at least a minimum of 12 hours of credit per semester at their post-secondary institution.

Daughters of the American Revolution Winyah Chapter Scholarship
The Winyah Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) is proud to offer our college scholarship to exemplary high school students this year. Applicants must write a statement of 1,000 words or less one of the following topics:
1. The lessons we take from obstacles we encounter can be fundamental to later success. Recount a time when you faced a challenge, setback or failure. How did it affect you, and what did you learn from the experience?
2. Describe a problem you’ve solved or a problem you’d like to solve. It can be an intellectual challenge, a research query, an ethical dilemma-anything that is of personal importance, no matter the scale. Explain its significance to you and what steps you took or could be taken to identify a solution.

Graphic Communication Scholarships
The Print and Graphics Scholarship Foundation is offering up to $5,000 in scholarships to deserving high school seniors who plan to pursue a career in either the fields of Graphic Communications, Technology, or Management.
