Washington Youth Tour & Cooperative Youth Summit
Santee Electric Cooperative is offering a Washington Youth Tour from June 15-20, 2019 and a Cooperative Youth Summit from July 9-12, 2019. Three high school juniors will be picked to join dozens of other South Carolina students on the Washington Tour. This is a six day, all expenses paid educational trip to Washington, DC. This is a great opportunity to meet with your state and national leaders and tour of nation’s capital. Students will also have a chance to compete for a $5,000 scholarship. Santee Electric will also send around two juniors to Columbia. These students will join the representatives from the other 20 co-ops in the state to meet lawmakers, tour the Statehouse and see how co-ops operate. RAP Time 2019
The Research Apprenticeship Program (RAP) is a hands-on residential program in scientific research for high school juniors and seniors. This summer program will be held on the campus North Carolina A&T State University from June 16-July 12, 2019. For more information, please stop by the guidance department. July Experience at Davidson College
Davidson College is offering a three week college immersion program for rising high school juniors and seniors who are highly motivated, collaborative, and self-disciplined. This summer program will run through June 30 through July 20, 2019. For more information, please stop by the guidance office or visit their website at www.davidson.edu/JulyExperience. Priority deadline is March 1, 2019 and the final deadline is April 1, 2019.

Washington University in St. Louis Summer Program
Washington University in St. Louis’s summer program is a five-week view of college life. This summer program will be held in three sessions. The 1st session will be Session A from June 9-July 14, 2019, Session B is from July 14-August 16, 2019 and session C will be held from June 9-August 3, 2019. During this summer program, students would live on campus, enroll in courses and study alongside college students. To be eligible, applicants must be a current high school sophomore or junior. Applicants must also have an academic average of B+ or better. They are also offering some other summer sessions for example Writing Institute, Pre-Medical Institute, and Ancient Discovery Institute. Applicants must be a current high school freshman, sophomore or junior. For more information, please stop by the guidance department. Duke University Summer Session
Duke University will be offering three summer academy programs for high school students who will represent the next generation of leaders from around the world. The first summer program is from July 7, 2019 through August 2, 2019 and offers college credit for students currently in grades 10th and 11th. The second summer program offers 2 terms ranging from June 16, 2019 through August 2, 2019 and offers a non-credit course for students currently in grades 9-12. The third summer program is from June 16, 2019 through July 26, 2019 and is currently open to students in grades 9-12. For more information please stop by the guidance office. Furman Summer Scholars
Furman University is offering their Furman Summer Scholars program to rising junior and seniors to give them a chance to participate in classes and to get a taste of college life. There will be two week long sessions. The first session will be held on July 7-13, 2019 and the second session will be July 14-20, 2019. For more information, please stop by the guidance office.
